We’re pleased to announce that CSBM will present on the following topics:
- Board Governance – Proven Legal and Financial Practices:

While many charter school boards are well-intended, knowledge regarding CUREs and Remedies for common red FLAGS can help tremendously. This session will explain what successful governing boards do to promote high-quality performance in all aspects of the school’s life.
- Forever Intertwined – The Law & The Money
- Besides academics, Finance, Legal, Audit, Governance & School Operations (FLAGS) are functions that can hold a charter school back from reaching its full potential. In addition to instructional prowess, the best school leaders have a keen awareness of the ever-present legal and financial risks of school management. This session will focus on the legal implications of financial risks as well as the financial implications of legal risks, FLAGS that regularly impact management teams and student outcomes.
- Navigating Educational Budgeting Challenges
- In today’s educational landscape, budgeting and forecasting pose increasing challenges due to factors like inflation, fluctuating interest rates, economic uncertainty, demographic shifts in enrollment, and state budget constraints. Charter school governing boards, management, and finance teams must explore various pathways—entrenchment, growth, location changes, and consolidations—to navigate these challenges. Mastering budgeting and forecasting, especially post-ESSER and pandemic, is crucial. This session highlights the importance of understanding common financial challenges and implementing proven strategies for ensuring financial stability for schools and networks through robust business planning practices.
