Gallagher’s Education Practice hosted their “Ninth Annual New York City Charter School Risk Management Seminar” at Mutual of America, 320 Park Avenue, New York, NY on February 8, 2023, from 8:30AM to 2:00PM to discuss top New York City Charter school issues with experts and charter school leaders.
Founder and CEO of Charter School Business Management (CSBM), Raj Thakkar, presented the first session of the day: “Becoming fiscally seCURE.” He shared insights on mitigating risk with CSBM’s Fiscal Responsibility Method and a high-level summary of his forthcoming book about responsible financial management of charter schools, called “fiscally seCURE.” The section of the book that he focused on during the seminar was one chapter, “CURE IX – Mitigate Risk Proactively: Maximize Stability & Minimize Disruptions.”
CSBM returned to the seminar as one of the five presenter organizations. CSBM was joined by presenters from Cohen Schneider Law P.C., PKF O’Connor Davies, LLP, Mutual of America, and Gallagher Education Practice Leaders. Together, the experts came together for insightful and collaborative dialogue with Charter School leaders.
